Welcome to Port Rediscovery
A town rests on the side of the sea — a town where secrets are best left to lie. But when someone comes to unearth secrets best left at the bottom of the sea, chaos unfolds.
Welcome to a shanty town full of individuals who will go to any lengths to turn a profit — necrologists, traders, and those who are more than passingly familiar with the black market. This is a place where criminals flee — either to take advantage of others or escape the law.
But sometimes, the law follows. The Arbiters of the Bond have come to pursue a criminal and he, in turn, has continued his experiments — and left quite the mess in his wake.
Will you assist the Arbiters, or will you delve into the depths? What side will you choose?
This year, Downfall is not about surviving the horror.
It's about walking directly into it. How far will you go?
Themes and Content
As always, we recommend that each participant read through the site to determine if this is the sort of event that they’d like to participant in. Downfall is a horror event, and deals with the themes of:
violence, combat, drugs, death, zombies, simulated torture, Raiders, water, black market dealings, local fictional politics, fictional religions, murder, puzzles, and body horror. The event itself may include fire, loud noises (including loud bangs), smoke and fog, and simulated combat.
While we try to disclose the main themes that you may encounter, there may be other themes and scenarios that crop up during the event. We encourage each participant to know their own limits, and to feel empowered to remove themselves from any scene that they may not be up for in order to best enjoy the event.
The Mortis Mines
Some have dug too far and too deep. The Mortis mines were first opened by researchers working with Dr. Barrows, and now they lie open — their secrets waiting to be unlocked.
As a player, you’ll have a chance to delve into the various layers of the Mortis Mines to try and learn more about what Dr. Barrows was and is trying to do. Solve puzzles, work fast, and try not to die in the process…
The Bleed
Death walks among us, especially now that the Mortis Mines lie open. Zombies rise and walk again, their gaping maws seeking the soft allure of flesh. A section of Port Rediscovery has been nicknamed “The Bleed,” after the waves of zombies that continuously rise there.
As a player, you’ll be able to be involved in intense combat scenarios involving the walking dead, and the horrific nature of zombies.
